merry and bright

Christmas was wonderful for us. Zach's parents came down from Washington and we ate, ate, ate, watched movies, saw Sherlock Holmes, ate, played INTENSE games of Sequence/Scrabble/MadGab/Catch Phrase, went to Temple Square, ate, shopped, and had a mocktail party where we ate some more. I literally didn't think I would ever be hungry again!

Zach and I got some awesome new clothes, movies, organizers for our apartment, new tires (A BIG HELP!), and some other things we wanted like cologne/wallet/tools (for him) and a pretty new purse (for me). Somehow we also managed to get presents for everyone else, but we decided not to buy for each other since we wanted to have enough for everybody. It was so much fun!

I posted all the pics on facebook but here are some of my favorites:

surprising what a little point-and-shoot can do sometimes... love these

just some adorable pics

Our friend Megan is wanting to start up a photography business and coincidentally we needed some pictures for our Christmas cards, so, we went and took some pictures in the canyon on probably the coldest day of the year... but with numb fingers and faces we still got some really cute ones! Thanks Megan! (Her new photo blog is h e r e . She could probably take some for you if you are in the Utah County area since she is building up her portfolio... and let's face it who doesn't love having great pictures???)

things that we build

Our internet has been out, and now its back and I can once again resume my happy little life of blogging. But check out my Decor blog because I am posting about our homemade Pottery Barn dresser. (Of course that belongs on the Decor blog. Plus its pathetically lacking in posts)

Last week we decorated gingerbread houses with our friends just like we did last year, homemade frosting and graham crackers! Ours was really lacking in creativity but we still had fun.

Matt and Katherine made their grandpa's cabin which was so accurate I feel like I've been there (although our cobblestones were WAY cooler and Matt knows it)

BUT I have to say the winners were Eric and Hillary who built Santa's sleigh by carving graham crackers, complete with control tower and take-off ramp. And reindeer who look like weiner dogs... which we lovingly referred to as weindeer. We're really going to have to step up our game next year.

Also we built this snowman one day last week before it all started melting... and then realized we really had nothing to put on him, so we grabbed my cowboy hat and Zach's scarf and called it good.

Shameless plug for...

My friend and roommate (at one time) Kristen, who I must highly recommend to you for any kind of digital photo projects you may have! She did our wedding slideshow DVD and it turned out so good it made my in-laws cry. SO cute. And she has now designed and purchased my Christmas cards for me, which are adorable, and if you want one then comment with your address because I would LOVE to send you one! And then you will see her expertise... and you will call her too. Check out her website HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERE!!! Love you Kristen, thanks bunches!
